A fine expression of southern Burgundy from Héritiers des Comtes Lafon, this Chardonnay reveals mineral purity and remarkable energy from the clay-limestone slopes of Mâconnais.
The 2023 vintage of Clos de la Crochette from Héritiers des Comtes Lafon captures the finesse of Mâconnais terroir. Grown biodynamically on clay-limestone slopes, this Chardonnay shows great aromatic purity and a vibrant character.
On the nose, marine notes (sea spray, shell) and fresh herbal aromas (lemongrass, herbs) evolve toward citrus fruit, green apple and pear. The palate balances ripe fruit intensity with mineral tension and a long, crisp saline finish.
Founded by Dominique Lafon, Héritiers du Comte Lafon pioneered organic and biodynamic viticulture in Mâconnais. Replanted in 1987, Clos de la Crochette expresses a precise, vibrant and refined style that stands alongside great white Burgundies.
This wine pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, sashimi and fish tartare, as well as Burgundian classics such as andouillette à la moutarde or Beaufort soufflé. Enjoy it now, or cellar for five to eight years as it gains complexity.
