A terroir-driven Pinot Noir with fine red fruits, floral and mineral character. Elegant, fresh and remarkably light on the palate.
Pinot Noir Strangenberg 2023 – Domaine Agathe Bursin
Based in Westhalten, in the heart of Haut-Rhin, Domaine Agathe Bursin is recognised for the precision and honesty of its wines drawn from high-altitude calcareous terroirs. The Strangenberg, a steep hillside with marl-chalk soils, provides Pinot Noir an ideal setting to express finesse, freshness and tension.
The 2023 vintage reveals a Pinot Noir that is both elegant and structured. The nose opens onto notes of fresh cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, completed by fine spicy and lightly smoky touches. With aeration, nuances of forest floor and warm stone underscore the terroir's identity. On the palate, the attack is supple, then the structure clarifies through fine and well-integrated tannins. The natural freshness of Strangenberg brings balance and length, with a clean finish, delicately mineral.
Made with a search for purity and measured ageing to preserve the expression of fruit and place, this Pinot Noir Strangenberg 2023 embodies a straight and precise style, more focused on elegance than power.
Drink from today onwards after a light aeration, or keep for 5 to 7 years to gain in complexity.
Food pairings: roasted poultry, grilled veal, contemporary Alsatian cuisine, sautéed mushrooms, soft-rind cheeses. Serving temperature: 14–16°C.
