Fresh and elegant, with snappy red fruit, fine texture and supple tannins.
Saumur-Champigny Tuffe 2023 – Château du Hureau
From one of the reference domaines of the appellation, Château du Hureau signs with this Tuffe 2023 cuvée a wine faithful to the pure expression of Saumur-Champigny, carried by the freshness of Cabernet Franc and the identity of tuffeau calcareous soils.
The vines, cultivated in organic farming, take deep root in these emblematic Loire terroirs, bringing the wine finesse, minerality and aromatic precision. Winemaking, kept minimal, favours indigenous yeasts and gentle extractions to preserve the brightness of the fruit.
The nose reveals a clean and expressive register of fresh red fruits, raspberry and redcurrant, heightened by floral notes and a lightly chalky touch typical of tuffeau. On the palate, the attack is supple and juicy, with fine energy, silky tannins and a fresh line that extends the finish. The whole offers a digestible, precise and particularly elegant style.
A Saumur-Champigny organic wine of fine drinkability, ideal from now, that will accompany white meats, fine charcuterie or vegetarian dishes perfectly. May also be kept for several years to gain in complexity.
