The Irancy 2023 from Domaine de la Croix Montjoie is a beautiful red wine from Burgundy, made entirely from Pinot Noir.
Its purple colour with garnet glints announces an expressive nose of black cherry, blackcurrant and redcurrant, lifted by a spicy note, typical of this warm vintage.
On the palate, the attack is silky and generous, supported by fine tannins and a long, peppery finish that again bears the signature of this fine vintage.
Grown on the clay-limestone soils typical of Irancy and aged twelve months in previously-used oak barrels, this wine expresses all the richness and freshness of its terroir. Ideal to accompany grilled red meats, good artisanal charcuterie or characterful cheeses such as Époisses or Langres, it can be enjoyed today after light aeration, but reveals its full potential after a few years of ageing, up to ten years.
